Who this program is for

You are based in the Pacific

Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Samoa or elsewhere in the region. You can begin the course from home.

You want a care career

Aged care and disability support are growing fields, and this qualification is the entry point into them.

You are ready to study

You can commit to 20 live online sessions and complete written and practical assessment.

You can meet the requirements

Get migration advice first, then a visitor visa, Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening and Working With Children Check before you travel.

Built on what we already know

Aged care and disability support are not new skills for Pacific Islanders. They are the skills we grow up with, practised at home. This program gives them a certificate.

Caring for our elders

In Pacific families, looking after parents, grandparents and community elders is already a way of life. This qualification turns that knowledge into recognised skills you can be paid for.

Family and community

Wantok in Papua New Guinea and the Solomons, vuvale in Fiji, aiga in Samoa — care has always been the work of a family, not one person. You learn alongside a team who understand that.

Talanoa

Talanoa means talking openly and honestly, with respect. Your free one-on-one time with a trainer is a talanoa: a chance to speak freely, ask anything, and be guided.

Who will train you

You are taught by a team of educators from both sides of the Pacific. Australian trainers bring the qualification, the assessment standards and current facility experience. Islander trainers bring the same journey behind you, and support you through the study and the move.

Australian educators

Trainers with Australian aged care and disability experience, who know the qualification, the assessment requirements and what Australian facilities expect.

Islander educators

Pacific Islander trainers who have made the same journey, and who support you with the study, the language and the practicalities of living away from home.

One team, both sides

You are not passed between two providers. The Australian and Islander educators plan and deliver the program together.
