Practical tips for your time at Caboolture South and on placement. This is a general guide — always check details before you travel.

Getting from Brisbane Airport to Caboolture South

  • The campus is north of Brisbane, roughly 40 minutes by car from Brisbane Airport.
  • You can take the Airtrain into the city and change to a train on the Caboolture line, or arrange a lift or rideshare.
  • Save the campus address before you fly: 14/110 Morayfield Road, Caboolture South QLD 4510.

Where to stay

  • Only book once you have written confirmation of your placement allocation.

Getting around

  • South East Queensland has trains and buses. A Go card or a contactless bank card can be used for fares.
  • Placements may be in different suburbs, so check travel times to your placement before you choose where to stay.

Weather and what to pack

Food and shopping

  • Supermarkets and markets are easy to find near Caboolture and Morayfield.
  • Many Pacific and Asian grocery items, such as taro, cassava and tinned fish, are sold in the Brisbane area.
  • Cooking together at home is the cheapest way to eat.

Money and phones

  • Tell your bank you are travelling and check card fees overseas.
  • An Australian prepaid SIM card is cheap and easy to buy at the airport or in shops.
  • Use the Cost Planner to set a living budget before you travel.

Church and community

  • There are Pacific Islander churches and community groups across Brisbane and the Moreton Bay region.
  • Ask your Islander educators — they can help you connect with people from home.

Health and safety

  • In an emergency, call 000 for police, fire or ambulance.
